Es conocido como un padecimiento ocupacional desarrollado en profesionales y trabajadores manuales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Se define como la compresi\u00f3n del nervio mediano en el t\u00fanel del carpo y se asocia a diversas causas, entre ellas, la anatom\u00eda de la mu\u00f1eca o malformaciones, movimientos repetitivos de la mano y cambios constantes en la temperatura de las manos. Tambi\u00e9n con traumatismos como las artritis reumatoide, acromegalias, fracturas de mu\u00f1eca, y otras condiciones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 El STC afecta al 10% de la poblaci\u00f3n mundial, especialmente a mujeres en edades comprendidas entre los 40 y 45 a\u00f1os, mientras que en los hombres puede desarrollarse entre los 45 y 54 a\u00f1os, seg\u00fan la Asociaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Fisioterapeutas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Generalmente esta enfermedad se desarrolla en la vejez y puede llegar a ser cuatro veces superior en las mujeres que en los hombres. La edad est\u00e1 considerada un factor de riesgo para el deslizamiento y conducci\u00f3n del nervio mediano.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Diversos estudios se\u00f1alan que el uso del rat\u00f3n del ordenador podr\u00eda incidir negativamente en la aparici\u00f3n de este s\u00edndrome, pero hasta ahora \u00e9stos no han sido concluyentes. De cualquier manera, es importante mantener una postura al trabajar frente al computador, pues ayuda a evitar los s\u00edntomas del STC y otras dolencias de la espalda.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Es importante prevenir esta condici\u00f3n a tiempo, por ello al sentir alguna molestia en las manos lo m\u00e1s recomendable asistir al m\u00e9dico quien de inmediato le mandar\u00e1 a realizar una electromiograf\u00eda, estudio que determinar\u00e1 la conducci\u00f3n que tiene el nervio, es decir, que tan intensos son los impulsos el\u00e9ctricos que lo recorren.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo tratar este s\u00edndrome?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 El tratamiento es fundamental para evitar da\u00f1os permanentes a los nervios u ocasionar atrofia muscular. En el mercado existe diversidad de productos para fortalecer manos y brazos, igual para inmovilizar la zona cuando ya existan los s\u00edntomas, as\u00ed como adecuar el espacio de trabajo para evitar su aparici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dentro de los grupos de f\u00e1rmacos que existen para aliviar las molestias ocasionadas por el t\u00fanel de carpio, se encuentra la Gabapentina de Laboratorios Calox, un f\u00e1rmaco que proporciona alivio del dolor muscoesquel\u00e9tico y las alteraciones en las estructuras del sistema nervioso.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 El medicamento act\u00faa como un analg\u00e9sico bastante eficaz que mejora la intensidad de los s\u00edntomas y es bien tolerado por los pacientes.
