Los representantes de Venezuela podr\u00edan presionar al tribunal para que se celebre una tercera ronda de licitaci\u00f3n de la matriz de Citgo si las ofertas no se acercan a los 10.000 millones de d\u00f3lares, como un mecanismo para extender el proceso.<\/p>\n

El tribunal federal estadounidense que lleva el caso de las reclamaciones financieras contra la refinadora petrolera Citgo, filial de PDVSA, ya est\u00e1 aceptando ofertas vinculantes por acciones de la empresa matriz de la refiner\u00eda venezolana.<\/p>\n

Esta es una etapa definitiva en un largo caso en el que 18 acreedores reclaman hasta 21.300 millones de d\u00f3lares por expropiaciones litigadas en tribunales de arbitraje e incumplimientos de pagos de deuda.<\/p>\n

En subasta de acciones, organizada en Delaware, participan acreedores entre los que se encuentran el gigante petrolero ConocoPhillips y las mineras Rusoro, Crystallex y Gold Reserve.<\/p>\n

La puja ha atra\u00eddo a inversionistas y empresas con importantes recursos, lo que ha impulsado las posibilidades de un cambio en la propiedad de la s\u00e9ptima refiner\u00eda estadounidense, informa una nota de la agencia brit\u00e1nica Reuters.<\/p>\n

El fondo de cobertura Elliott Investment Management est\u00e1 evaluando una oferta, mientras que un grupo de acreedores representado por Centerview Partners pretende atraer a Conoco para que participe en una oferta conjunta por la matriz de Citgo, PDV Holding, dijeron fuentes a Reuters en abril.<\/p>\n

Citgo: \u00abLa joya de la corona\u00bb<\/h2>\n

Citgo es el mayor activo en la mira de los acreedores que intentan obtener una compensaci\u00f3n por las nacionalizaciones decretadas por el fallecido presidente Hugo Ch\u00e1vez hace dos d\u00e9cadas y los incumplimientos de pago del presidente Nicol\u00e1s Maduro, quien ha imputado a las sanciones petroleras impuestas por Estados Unidos estos incumplimientos.<\/p>\n

Maduro rechaza la subasta y ha acusado directa y reiteradamente al gobierno de Estados Unidos de \u00abrobar los activos externos de Venezuela\u00bb. Pero su gobierno ha hecho pocos esfuerzos para honrar las deudas del pa\u00eds, puntualiza la nota de Reuters.<\/p>\n

Un experto judicial designado por el tribunal especialmente para el caso y el banco de inversi\u00f3n\u00a0Evercore Group<\/a>\u00a0est\u00e1n a cargo de recibir y analizar las ofertas.\u00a0La fecha l\u00edmite para completar el proceso de venta, incluida la adjudicaci\u00f3n a los ganadores de la ronda, es el 15 de julio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Citgo Petroleum, controlada por directivas designadas por la oposici\u00f3n pol\u00edtica a Maduro desde que rompi\u00f3 lazos con su matriz, la petrolera estatal PDVSA, en 2019, es la \u00abjoya de la corona\u00bb de los activos extranjeros de Venezuela, ya que refina hasta 807.000 barriles de petr\u00f3leo al d\u00eda.<\/p>\n

En los dos \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, la empresa ha generado 4.800 millones de d\u00f3lares<\/strong>\u00a0en beneficios netos.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Los representantes de Venezuela ante el tribunal de Delaware conf\u00edan en que las ofertas en esta segunda ronda de licitaci\u00f3n sean superiores a las no vinculantes de la primera ronda, realizada en enero, que s\u00f3lo alcanzaron los 7.300 millones de d\u00f3lares, frente a la valoraci\u00f3n de Citgo de entre 11.000 y 13.000 millones.<\/p>\n

Los representantes de Venezuela podr\u00edan presionar al tribunal para que se celebre una tercera ronda de licitaci\u00f3n si las ofertas no se acercan a los 10.000 millones de d\u00f3lares, seg\u00fan afirmaron dos fuentes a la agencia Reuters.<\/p>\n

Acciones de \u00faltima hora<\/h2>\n

A medida que se acercaba la fecha l\u00edmite para la presentaci\u00f3n de ofertas, pol\u00edticos y enviados en representaci\u00f3n de Venezuela comenzaron a redoblar sus esfuerzos para detener la subasta. Este mes, solicitaron a la Casa Blanca y al Congreso de Estados Unidos una pausa en el proceso judicial hasta que se celebren elecciones presidenciales en Venezuela en julio.<\/p>\n

Las juntas que gestionan Citgo tambi\u00e9n siguen intentando alcanzar acuerdos de pago con algunos acreedores, entre ellos Conoco y los titulares de los bonos 2020 de PDVSA, que est\u00e1n garantizados con acciones de otra matriz de la empresa refinadora.<\/p>\n
