Berlin – <\/span>A\u00a0majority of Germans no longer see the US as a reliable partner, according to results of a poll released Friday by German public broadcaster ZDF.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the ZDF\u00a0Politbarometer results, 82 per cent of Germans say that, under US\u00a0President Donald Trump, that country can’t be relied upon as an international partner. Of those polled, only 14 per cent considered America to be a reliable diplomatic partner.<\/p>\n

That compared to 36 per cent who see Russia as a strong ally and 43 per cent who think the same of China. By comparison, 58 per cent see Russia as unreliable while 43 per cent also think the same of China.<\/p>\n

Since Trump’s decision earlier this month to pull the US\u00a0out of an international deal designed to prevent Iran from building nuclear weapons, 65 per cent of respondents said the deal should be kept alive, while 28 per cent were sceptical.<\/p>\n

The survey was conducted among 1,200 randomly selected voters between Tuesday and Thursday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
