Senador Christopher Dodd, Enviado Especial para las Am\u00e9ricas del Presidente EE.UU, General Laura Richardson, Comandante del Comando Sur y presidente Noboa<\/p><\/div>\n

El presidente de la Rep\u00fablica, Daniel Noboa Azin, recibi\u00f3 hoy la visita del Senador Christopher Dodd, Enviado Especial para las Am\u00e9ricas del Presidente de los Estados Unidos, y de la General Laura Richardson, Comandante del Comando Sur, junto a la Canciller Gabriela Sommerfeld y los ministros del eje de seguridad.<\/p>\n

Esta visita es una manifestaci\u00f3n potente del respaldo internacional que ha recibido el Ecuador ante la firme decisi\u00f3n del Gobierno Nacional de combatir de manera frontal el terrorismo, el narcotr\u00e1fico, as\u00ed como la delincuencia organizada transnacional en todas sus manifestaciones, y devolver la paz a la ciudadan\u00eda. Estados Unidos es un socio estrat\u00e9gico para el Ecuador.<\/p>\n

Ambas partes acordaron incrementar la cooperaci\u00f3n en seguridad y defensa. Expresaron la importancia de profundizar la inversi\u00f3n y el intercambio comercial, como una manera directa de incidir en la dinamizaci\u00f3n de la econom\u00eda y la generaci\u00f3n de empleo, atacando el problema de la delincuencia desde su ra\u00edz.<\/p>\n

Hubo un di\u00e1logo constructivo sobre la cuesti\u00f3n migratoria para propender una migraci\u00f3n segura, ordenada y regular, as\u00ed como encontrar soluciones pragm\u00e1ticas y mutuamente convenidas a los problemas que enfrentan los ciudadanos ecuatorianos en Estados Unidos que se encuentran en situaci\u00f3n irregular.<\/p>\n

Christopher Dodd es Asesor Presidencial Especial para las Am\u00e9ricas. Por treinta a\u00f1os, fue senador de los Estados Unidos por el Estado de Connecticut. Laura Richardson es una General de cuatro estrellas del Ej\u00e9rcito de los Estados Unidos y actualmente Comandante del Comando Sur (USSOUTHCOM).<\/p>\n
