La cantidad de personas que utilizan el internet sigui\u00f3 aumentando en 2023, pero a\u00fan no iguala al n\u00famero de propietarios de tel\u00e9fonos m\u00f3viles, entre los que hay m\u00e1s hombres que mujeres, indica el informe anual de la agencia global de telecomunicaciones.<\/span><\/p>\n

El\u00a078% de la poblaci\u00f3n mundial de diez a\u00f1os en adelante tiene un tel\u00e9fono celular<\/strong>, aunque no todas esas personas acceden a internet, seg\u00fan los datos correspondientes a 2023 de la\u00a0Uni\u00f3n Internacional de Telecomunicaciones<\/a>\u00a0(UIT).<\/p>\n

Los datos de la UIT revelan que el porcentaje de\u00a0propietarios de un tel\u00e9fono m\u00f3vil supera en un 11% al de los usuarios de internet<\/strong>\u00a0-calculado en 67% de la poblaci\u00f3n mundial-, en todas las regiones y grupos de ingresos, aunque esta diferencia se est\u00e1 acortando ya que el crecimiento en el uso de la red ha superado significativamente el crecimiento de la propiedad de tel\u00e9fonos m\u00f3viles en los \u00faltimos tres a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Las cifras desagregadas indican que en el\u00a0continente americano y la Comunidad de Estados Independientes (Eurasia) la penetraci\u00f3n de internet supera en promedio el 80% de la poblaci\u00f3n<\/strong>, en tanto que la tasa de propiedad de tel\u00e9fonos m\u00f3viles es menos de cinco puntos porcentuales superior a la del uso de la red.<\/p>\n

La brecha en Asia y el Pac\u00edfico es de nueve puntos porcentuales y de 14 puntos porcentuales en la regi\u00f3n de los Estados \u00c1rabes. En \u00c1frica, donde el 63% de la poblaci\u00f3n posee un tel\u00e9fono m\u00f3vil pero s\u00f3lo el 37% usa Internet, la brecha es de 26 puntos porcentuales.<\/p>\n

Las mujeres todav\u00eda detr\u00e1s de los hombres en el acceso a la tecnolog\u00eda<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Con respecto a la paridad de g\u00e9nero en la propiedad de tel\u00e9fonos m\u00f3viles, la diferencia entre hombres y mujeres es comparable a la del uso de Internet.\u00a0Las mujeres tienen hoy un 8% menos de probabilidades de poseer un tel\u00e9fono m\u00f3vil que los hombres<\/strong>, frente al 10% en 2020. Al igual que con el uso de Internet, el progreso ha sido desigual en los \u00faltimos tres a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

La UIT explic\u00f3 que\u00a0los tel\u00e9fonos celulares son la puerta de entrada m\u00e1s com\u00fan a internet<\/strong>\u00a0y, por lo tanto, la prevalencia de la propiedad de dispositivos m\u00f3viles proporciona un buen indicador de la penetraci\u00f3n de internet. Sin embargo, aclar\u00f3 que \u00e9sta no es una correspondencia uno a uno, por un lado porque adem\u00e1s del propietario, otras personas pueden usar el tel\u00e9fono para acceder a internet, y por el otro, algunas personas tienen tel\u00e9fonos b\u00e1sicos o suscripciones que s\u00f3lo permiten llamadas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
