Foto: Captura de pantalla.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">El pasado martes 20 de octubre de 2020, el Banco Central del Ecuador (BCE) firm\u00f3 un convenio de cooperaci\u00f3n con el Consejo Mundial de Cooperativas de Ahorro y Cr\u00e9dito (Woccu) y con la Agencia de los Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Integral (Usaid).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">El acuerdo, que tiene como objetivo fomentar la inclusi\u00f3n financiera de la poblaci\u00f3n vulnerable del Ecuador y de los ciudadanos venezolanos migrantes y refugiados que se encuentran en el pa\u00eds, ser\u00e1 financiado por la Usaid e implementado por el Woccu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">La firma de este fue transmitida por Facebook Live con la participaci\u00f3n de 160 visitantes, entre ellos estuvieron representantes de asociaciones financieras ecuatorianas, cooperativas de ahorro y cr\u00e9dito, y organizaciones de apoyo internacional y local.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">De la misma manera, intervinieron integrantes de las instituciones inmersas del convenio, quienes intercambiaron criterios sobre el impacto de la inclusi\u00f3n financiera en la calidad de vida de las personas en situaci\u00f3n de vulnerabilidad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ver\u00f3nica Artola Jarrin, gerente general del Banco Central del Ecuador, destac\u00f3 el papel trascendental de la inclusi\u00f3n financiera en el crecimiento del pa\u00eds. \u201cEl BCE se orienta en la mejora del \u00edndice de la inclusi\u00f3n financiera del pa\u00eds y de esta manera contribuye a su crecimiento productivo y econ\u00f3mico\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cPor ello, mantiene el constante reto de potencializar el desarrollo de los sectores vulnerables, especialmente de los refugiados, brind\u00e1ndoles un mayor acceso a los servicios financieros, dinamizando las actividades de las peque\u00f1as econom\u00edas y generando capacidades para aprovechar de forma \u00f3ptima los recursos, elevar sus ingresos y contribuir a la activaci\u00f3n de la econom\u00eda a escala nacional y local\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">En ese sentido, William Kaschack, director de Usaid en Ecuador, resalt\u00f3 el enfoque de empoderamiento que tiene el convenio. \u201cUsaid quiere apoyar a los migrantes y aliviar el sufrimiento causado por la pandemia por el covid-19, as\u00ed como ayudar a las personas a progresar m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la asistencia\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cTambi\u00e9n construimos seguridad socioecon\u00f3mica para los migrantes y refugiados venezolanos en Per\u00fa y Ecuador, as\u00ed como para las comunidades locales a las que se unen\u201d, concluy\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Por su parte, Brian Branch, presidente y gerente general de Woccu, se enfoc\u00f3 en el papel que juegan las cooperativas de ahorro y cr\u00e9dito para impulsar la inclusi\u00f3n financiera. \u201cWoccu quiere apoyar y hacer crecer la comunidad global de cooperativas y cr\u00e9dito, la cual cuenta ya con 291 millones de socios\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cSu misi\u00f3n es generar mayor inclusi\u00f3n financiera, mucho m\u00e1s de la que hay ahora en el mercado.
