M\u00e1s de 200 nuevas variedades hicieron parte de este concurso y estar\u00e1n exhibidas, durante los 3 d\u00edas que dura la feria, ante cerca de 6.500 personas, de 60 pa\u00edses, vinculadas al sector floricultor\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Este concurso tiene como principal objetivo la selecci\u00f3n de las mejores flores y follajes de corte de cada categor\u00eda. Adem\u00e1s, escoge un gran ganador destacado por su excelencia, calidad y belleza,<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed se contribuye a la notoriedad del sector floricultor en el panorama internacional con la muestra de las innovaciones y la calidad colombiana. Lo anterior demuestra el compromiso de Asocolflores en un momento en el que, como nunca, los floricultores est\u00e1n comprometidos con la generaci\u00f3n de empleo y las exportaciones, a la vez que se sientan bases muy importantes para que se conquisten nuevos mercados.<\/p>\n<p>En la premiaci\u00f3n participaron 59 empresas en las categor\u00edas \u201cProductores de flores\u201d, \u201cObtentores\u201d y \u201cGran campe\u00f3n\u201d, de varios pa\u00edses, que pusieron a consideraci\u00f3n del jurado calificador las nuevas texturas, gamas crom\u00e1ticas y formas creadas.<\/p>\n<p>En la categor\u00eda \u201cProductores de flores\u201d se reconocieron diversos atributos, entre los cuales se destacan la duraci\u00f3n en florero, altura de los tallos, tama\u00f1o de los follajes, resistencia y calidad de la flor.<\/p>\n<p>Por su parte, la categor\u00eda obtentores exalt\u00f3 la innovaci\u00f3n en el desarrollo, por parte de empresas nacionales e internacionales, de nuevas variedades a partir de diferentes cruces naturales de semillas (hibridaci\u00f3n).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCabe anotar que un obtentor (breeder) no realiza modificaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica y pudo demorar hasta 6 a\u00f1os para presentar en Proflora 2023 una nueva variedad. Para obtener 3 o 4 de ellas, los obtentores debieron realizar cerca de 8.000 cruces de este tipo\u201d, agreg\u00f3 Solano.<\/p>\n<p>El jurado calificador estuvo compuesto por un grupo de 8 expertos nacionales y 3 internacionales, presidido por Rolf Timmerman, de gran trayectoria en la floricultura internacional.<\/p>\n<p>Con su Concurso de Variedades, Proflora 2023 sigue orientando la tendencia del mercado mundial del sector. As\u00ed, sienta las bases para que las \u201cFlores de Colombia\u201d sigan presentes en las m\u00e1s importantes florister\u00edas, vitrinas comerciales, centros culturales, almacenes de cadena y
